British in Kelantan before 1909

When something had happened, there was a reason behind that. So, before we go through what the action that Tok Janggut take to resist, we need to know about what British had done before 1909. For the first is Declaration of Inggeris-Siam 1902. This declaration put Kelantan under Siam. Through this, British take advantage by appoint one them to be an advisor for Sultan Muhamad IV in all things except in custom and religion. When British appoint an English advisor as ‘Penasihat dan Pesuruhjaya Siam’, Malayan people confess their unsatisfied according to the new rules in administration that British introduce.
